The Café, based in the
Kemp Town Crypt Community Centre beneath St George’s Church,
re-opened on 4th September 2007 as Café in the Crypt. The
Cafe is a new and exciting community partnership between the Kemp Town
Crypt Community Centre and St John’s School and College of
Walpole Rd, Kemp Town. Both are long established charities.
St John’s provides care and education for students with a wide range of complex learning difficulties and, through the management and operation of the café, offers valuable work-related opportunities. This unique social enterprise allows the students to develop their independence in a supported environment.
